Samāna Bay
This big peninsula of nearly 1000
kmē, rich in picturesque and bewitching landscapes,
form one of the most beautiful areas of the Dominican Republic.
From
east to west it is crossed by the hill-chain of Samāna, in
which some peaks are more than 500 metres high. Plunging abruptly in the blue ocean waters, these
hills contribute to the charm of the area. More, their sides have a
surprising and various vegetation. This hill landscape act as a counterbalance
to the wonderful white-sand beaches hugging the north and south shores of Samāna.
Few places in the world have a
marriage between hills and beaches, cities and countrysides,
like the Samana peninsula.
